Wild Bill Days

The Mendota Museum and Historical Society is proud to present Wild Bill Days. This two day program will take place at the Hume-Carnegie Museum from 11am to 4pm on both the 25th and 26th of May. We will be focusing on the life and times of James Butler "Wild Bill" Hickok. Wild Bill rose to fame on the plains of the American west, primarily as a lawman and gunfighter, but got his start in life in Homer (now Troy Grove), IL.

For this event we are thrilled to welcome veteran actor Walt Willey. Walt is a native of Ottawa has had a long and successful career on both stage and screen where he is best know for his work as Jackson Montgomery on the hit show All My Children. During the course of the two days Walt will be performing a version of his one-man show about the life and adventures of Wild Bill in the person of Hickok himself. These performances will take place at 12, 1:30, and 3pm. We hope everyone can join us to hear about Wild Bill's life here in northern Illinois.

This program is being produced in conjunction with our friends at the LaSalle Co. Historical Society and sponsored by First State bank
