America's 250th Open House
The Graves-Hume Public Library is hosting an open house to celebrate the 250th anniversary of America! Come on by for all sorts of exciting games and activities, all kicking off with a flag presentation and a reading of the Declaration of Independence!

Illinois Gunmakers Presentation
Curt Johnson will be visting our Pioneer Room at 907 Washington! He'll be here to discuss the rich history of Illinois gunmakers! As a retired Tool and Die maker and avid antique firearm enthusiast, Curt is excited to share his knowledge and passion! He'll even have guns made in LaSalle county on display! Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from the link below or by sending us an email!

Wild Bill Days
With the 150th anniversary of the death of Wild Bill Hickok, our Wild Bill Days will be more exciting than ever! Walt Willey will be taking up the mantle of Wild Bill yet again with his one man show "The End of the Trail." Performances will be at 11am and 2pm on both Saturday and Sunday! We'll have food from 11:30am to 1:30pm and Wild Bill merchandise for sale both days. Plus, Hume-Carnegie will be open to allow everyone to enjoy our Wild Bill Hickok display! With the Starved Rock Trolley to take people between all three locations, there's no reason to miss out! Come enjoy the festivities in Veterans Park all weekend long! No Tickets Needed!

John Hossack: No Apologies
We here at the Mendota Historical Society are absolutely thrilled to be a part of a really outstanding documentary film that covers the history of the Underground Railroad in LaSalle Co. This film has been produced by the Ottawa Historical and Scouting Heritage Museum and is a collaboration between many of the museums and historic sites here in LaSalle Co. The film will be shown at the Ottawa museum starting on Tuesday 7 July. Tickets are $10.00 each and will be available through their website: https://ottawahistoricalscoutingmuseum.org/. This film is a really excellent look at an important part of our county’s history- you are not going to want to miss it. Until then, please enjoy this trailer.
