First Streamliner 1937

822 Streamliner, the first large standard size, diesel engine built by Electric Motive Co. was being tested on the Burlington Railroad at Mendota's Union Depot in 1937. This was a prototype passenger engine.

This picture is from the Union Depot Railroad Museum's collection of hundreds of classic railroad photographs.
