Frank Becket is the second from the right

Frank Becket was born on April 28. 1919 in Mendota, IL to William and Anna (Golden) Becket the youngest of five children. Frank attended Mendota grade schools and graduated from Mendota High School in 1938. He enjoyed playing football during his high school years.

On May 30, 1941, Frank and Dorothy Forster were married in Seneca, IL and became the parents of two sons, Richard, now in Toulan and Gerald, of Mendota.

Frank started his career as a brakeman with the Chicago, Burlington, and Quincy (CB&Q) railroad in June of 1941. He remained with the railroad, only to be excused for the time he served his country during WWII, until his retirement around 1979-1980.

Frank was a veteran of World War II, serving with the United States Army in the European Theater with the 35th Infantry Division.

Frank enjoyed his retirement by visiting with his many friends and grandchildren. His favorite hobby was fishing with family and friends, especially his many trips to northern Minnesota every year.

His wife, who preceded him in death on December 28, 1990, enjoyed 49 wonderful years with Frank. Frank passed away on November 20, 2003.
